Cosmic dance above my head,
colors that blend sublime.
Blues and greens and striking reds,
I'm lost in space and time.
Such scenes inspire dreamers,
it's nature at it's best!
Poets, artists, believers,
translating beauty's fest.
Thoughts drift to my city home,
the foul polluted air.
Smog creates a poisoned dome,
yet no one seems to care.
Planet earth, a 'jewel in space',
or so the traveler said.
That saying now seems out of place,
a 'nest befouled' instead.
But for now I watch the lights,
and dream of better things.
A future day when earth is right,
and harmony takes wing.
The Essence of Love
The little girl noticed the little boy with the cute dimple glancing her way. She quickly looked away, not wanting to give him the time of day. Still, she couldn't resist the urge to look again. There he was, smiling and waving, as if he'd known her for the entire 10 years that she'd been alive on planet earth! So, throwing caution to the wind, she walked across the playground toward him, at a rather leisurely pace, of course. When she got to where he was standing he stopped smiling, looked into her beautiful brown eyes and simply said: "I love you." Her face got as red as a tomato and she ran into the school gym as fast as she could and hid behind the basketball stands. There was a little tear in her eye, as she struggled with the emotions that were flooding her young heart.
The next day she saw him again. This time though, when her eyes met his, he turned away, with a sullen look on his face. She wondered to herself if it was possible that he loved her for only a day, and th

you know the sorrow, the hurt and the pain

Tree of Life (Adam's lament)
I gazed through the mist of this garden so fair,
and there stood a tree so stately and rare.
I stood there in awe as the birds gathered 'round,
For a moment 'twas silent; no, nary a sound.
I peered closer yet, I could see there were two,
two trees did reach for the sky ever blue.
As I pondered about the second one there,
a temptress appeared, she proffered a dare!
Now as I gaze at my garden so fair,
the cruel flaming sword doth keep me from there.
I wish, how I wish, for a glimpse of that tree,
the tree of life that was meant just for me!
GENESIS 2:9; 3:6,7,24
What He Noticed
He noticed that her hair was as blonde as the sun,
perfectly brushed, hanging loosely about her shoulders.
He noticed that her lips were as red as crimson,
curled slightly up, in an everlasting smile.
He noticed that her wedding ring glistened in the light,
a band of gold, a reminder of good times past.
He noticed that her eyes were closed as if asleep,
those beautiful blues, the windows to her soul.
But what he noticed most of all was a heart no longer beating,
a chest no longer rising and falling with breath.
"This deafening silence; O to hear her laugh once again!"
As she lay there now in her eternal bedchamber,
her lifeless body as still as the hands of a broken timepiece,
he couldn't help notice, no, he couldn't help but notice...
That his life would never be the same.
Bagpipes are for lasses (A Scottish tale)
The dawn is just a breakin',
across this old hilly land.
Me heart is sorely achin',
o'er the lass who'd held me hand.
As I glanced 'cross the gloamin',
the sunrise' castin' shadows.
I'd hoped to see her roamin',
toward that familiar meadow.
'Twas there we shared our love,
one so soft and sweet and true.
'Twas there clouds swirled above,
in a sky so ever blue.
Alas, one October mornin',
when the skies had turned to grey,
and the rain began a pourin',
the lass upped and walked away.
So each morn I face the east,
and I play these bloody pipes.
This poor lad's plea will ne'er cease,
till his lass comes home for keeps!
Perhaps Life II
Perhaps life is like a fairy tale
where all your dreams come true
it exists to give us memories
most of mine will be of you
and when we fall and stumble
yes, when we lose our way
our memories of life will save the day
Perhaps life is like an open road
perhaps a narrow path
some will experience happiness
while some are trapped by wrath
and when we're troubled and confused
and when our spirits sink
our memories of life can be our link
Oh, life to some is like a curse
to some a gift from God
For some it comes with healing
and some just feel the rod
And some say life's worth living
and some say that it's not
and some say life's a journey
and some say "where's my lot?"
Perhaps life is like the sky above
so endless and supreme
like a fire to warm our hearts inside
a cool dip in the sea
and if I could live forever
and if all good things came true
my memories of life would be of you
And some say life's worth living
and some say they're not sure
And some say life is longing
and some say it's a
9 MonthsFor 9 months I carried you
I watched stretchmarks invade my flawless skin
Like aeroplane trails in the sky
I watched my stomach ever grow
Like a beautiful rose emerging from nowhere roots
Breathing normally became ambitious
And sleeping became a distant memory
As you kicked your tiny feet against your temporary home
To inadvertently let me know
Your cravings once again
9 months went and came far too quickly
Like day turns to night without a thought
And the highs and lows of pregnancy
Once again surfaced themselves
Just before you screamed your way into the world
A nervous wreck at the thought of being a mother
Was I going to be good enough to look after
The beautiful bundle that would become you?
But just like there is a rainbow after rain
I knew we too would survive the lows because of the highs
Seeing your daddy play with you, comfort you
Laugh with you and cry with you
I knew that you were a gift to be cherished
Loved like the evening summer sun
Treasured like the adorning winter Yu
Breakthrough The Cycle (Poem)
As the heart aches the mouth profanes
To habits and addictions we've become enslaved
Our frustrations increase as our sin remains
Yet in our strength no progress can be obtained
Only when we are so broken, it's Him we start seeking
The one whom in our suffering has been silently weeping
His words never ceased as He has always been speaking
We ignore that voice that has been internally preaching
He sends out His faithful to testify of a love so great
It is not in His nature to forsake and let you fade away
He is determined to bring you back to that wonderful place
That in your search to fill your heart, you lost the way
Now you sit in worry, pain, and sorrow
Hoping for that miracle, a new tomorrow
Consuming all that will help you numb it all and let you forget
But your own strength only brings a new day with more regrets
Look into the depths of your heart
Remember that even you, He has set apart
From your side He hasn't chosen to depart
Take it now, seize it, and accept to restart
Letter To a StrangerYou do not recognize my name
Nor am I in knowledge of yours
Though we have never met before
I feel the need to speak with you
To tell you stories of my life
And you provide me with the same
But before we start a friendship
I wish to ask you a few things
Thus, your undivided focus
Is what I need from you right now
Can you pay fervant attention
To every word that passes my lips?
In years past, I have met people
Who love surface phenomena
And fail to dive deeper than that
Refuse to connect ideas
Will you hear the depths of my verse
And perceive me for who I am?
And many of these same people
Have done nothing to assist me
With any hardship I have faced
Have not been there to support me
Do you keep an eye out for friends
To have their backs in trying times?
When there arrives a dire moment
That requires a frank dialogue
And an unfettered honesty
Without any hesitation
Would you call out my behaviour
When it is less than savory?
All these things I ask in my search
For a deep, genuine friends
I'm not looking for sobs, I'm not looking for tears
I'm praying that you'd want to transform the rest of your years
That you'd make that decision that would deliver you from all of your fears
And that all the confusion in your mind would be finally cleared
It's been so long, but I'm still here
Praying and believing that you'll let God near
That one day I'd wake up to the sound of music in my ear
Hearing your voice worship, singing, how Jesus changed your life after so many years
I'd often ask my self Why is this so important?
Why not give up the hope and just ignore it?
Why feel discouraged when I hear you're still exploring?
Frustrated when I see your so close to exploding
I realized it's not because I'm still tied down to you
Not because I can't forget the time I spent with you
It's not because my heart still belongs to you
It's simply because I may have never found Him myself, if it weren't for you
You're beautiful, you're gorgeous, yes that's all true
But what does it matter, when
God Always Comes Through
Sometimes we live through a horrible experience
It's not easy to wrestle with personal demons
In our impatience we do things we shouldn't do
But even then, in the end, God always came through
The things we hate, those things we do
The things we'd like to do, those we can't do
If Paul the apostle went through it, so will you
But even then, in the end, God always came through
When we misaligned our minds from the will of the divine
Sin seeped through to seduce with promises of good times
Promises we paid a heavy price believing they'd be true
But even then, in the end, God always came through
Whether your affliction is violence, sex, or drugs
An unlisted addiction or all of the above
And though you feel that this is all there is for you
Remember that in the end, God will always come through
It's not because you deserve it or He owes it to you
Not because of your talents or the work that you do
It's because He really loves you and His promise to you
Is that in end, He will always co

Made of What We Are.
Endlessly in the end,
shall I let flow the passion.
Our own, the love undying
to the very cadence of Heaven's joy.
This paradise discovered,
that when my heart speaks of you,
with a burning passion,
that right away I write away.
Thank you God, for Anael's gift...
This now love from afar,
to this portrait of perfection
That to I shall return....
To this, my angelic fire,
I am bound forevermore,
by unbreakable vows
to that true sense of belonging...
For this living gift,
Shall I be home in a heartbeat,
to fulfill that elated kiss,
To glorify her in full.
Long did I hold patience for this to come,
and the cliché cupid had at last found me.
As wherein our lips meet,
this living system of mine reminisces.
What memories have remained
in my forgetful storage continue
to serve my jaw the smiles
that you so know and adore...
For whatever reason, you chose me,
and pray I that God had a hand.
Though I deserve not a thing,
I receive beyond the expectations of my prayers.
Long did I await your arrival,
And I don't believe you were a second too soon.
MarriageHearts flutter like butterfly's
Flying high, soaring the sky
oh how lovely did the organ sing
As one gazed upon another's eyes
And said take this cup, take this wine
And you shall be forever mine
Not for riches, not for gold
That my heart had been sold
For love and only love is what I feel
So the lovers, lay hand one on other
And prepare for their ordeal
As not just lovers
But husband and wife
A huge difference tis' so
For eternity they will stay
And even after, they will meet in the palace beyond
For their first dance in heaven!
Child of Newtown
The last time I saw you; your face, etched forever in my memory.
Those eyes, so wise, and yet loving. Your laugh, yes that laugh,
how can I ever forget! The memories we shared of good times
(sure, there were tough times too), frolicking in the wood, dancing
in the sand together, always together. You and me, me and you, living and
loving, sharing the best of times.
Will I see you again? Will we sing together again? Your favorite songs,
I know them all, word for word. I could sing them in my sleep, or recite your
favorite stories with one hand tied behind my back. Eating ice cream with you on a warm
summer night; the very best of times! My favorite was vanilla, yours rocky road.
Watching your favorite cartoon with you on Saturday morning; precious! Oh how I miss
you my child, my dear, sweet child. My heart is broken, forever numb.
"Come back to me, please come back."
"Awaken, my child, for the world is brand new.
The birds sing a song, their song is for YOU.
Our DutyWe swallowed the path home
Because we were hungry,
Though starving is an ongoing
Story, an empty bag
Dancing in the streets,
Full of an unfastened voice
Walking through the house,
Wind unchained, heart admonished.
Heaven fills its eyes, crawls away,
That sleeping boat content to follow
The vacant waves, intervals
Of dying that we dare not interrupt,
And we watch the kind ear shrinking
From our charcoal docks; heaven
With a full stomach crawls away.
This is what we were put here for.
Leaving Southampton She was in the kitchen when he stumbled in noisily, tripping as he went past the shelves and catching the edge of the table to keep himself from falling.
Pretending not to hear the stream of curses that followed, she kept her eyes fixed on the dishes, letting her hand trail in the soapy water. There was a loud scraping of wood against grimy concrete as he drew a chair and collapsed into it. At this she looked up, and after a moment's hesitation, she said, unnecessarily, "You've been drinking."
He clutched his head and said nothing. He hadn't shaved in weeks and stank of sweat and alcohol; he looked much older than his eighteen years.
They sat in silence for a while. Then he announced, loudly, "Fuck."
She didn't bother to tell him off. She just waited. And jumped when he suddenly brought his fist down, hard, onto the table.
